Jayanagar Railway: New hope for business to flourish

October 2, Janakpur

At one time, Janakpur was the economic capital. The Janakpur Cigarette Factory, which generates the highest revenue in the country, and the only Janakpur-Jainagar railway service in Nepal supported the economy. When the Janakpur-Jayanagar railway service was in operation, it was dominated by local industrialists. However, after the closure of both these heritages, trade and business started declining there.

Traders seem optimistic that the operation of the railway will boost business here. Textile trader Amit Pathak says that they are hopeful that the railway service from Jayanagar in India to Janakpur in Dhanusha will become a major trade corridor again. He says that now buying from India and bringing it to Nepal will make the transportation expensive and it will take months to get here.

Railways have given new hope to the stalled trade and business. "In our quadruple trade, the railways have raised hopes that our days will return," says Amit Pathak. "Many industrialists and traders have fled to India as they have not been able to get out of the business. Hope to prosper ', he said.

Shiva Shankar Sah (Hira), president of Udyog Vanijya Sangha, Province- 2, says that the industrialists and businessmen have been forced to flee as the business is declining and the rent is becoming more expensive. "With the arrival of the train, there is hope among businessmen that it will increase the number of people coming to Janakpur for shopping. "I am optimistic that trade will flourish as freight traffic and the pressure of the Indian people increase," he said. Govinda Mahato has written the news in today's Annapurna Post Daily.
