Traders of 15 out of 26 fish shops near Kalimati Vegetable Market have closed their shutters this morning.

After the monitoring team of Kathmandu Municipal Corporation reached the market and started monitoring the fish shops from the fruit market, the traders of 15 shops near the main entrance pulled the shutters and fled.

In this process, some people tried to lock it, but no one did. The monitoring team was seizing 9 kg of rotten fish found in Saptari fish shop when the trader pulled the shutter. ‘I forgot to put ice. The fish is not so bad. Mohammad Majlum Mian, the owner of the fish shop, was defending himself.

Meanwhile, Veterinary Service Officer of the Veterinary Services Department of the metropolis, Dummer Bahadur Bam, said, "Traders are worried about the non-issuance of purchase and sale bills rather than the quality of fish. He said that the traders fled due to fear in registration, renewal and purchase and sale bills of many of the shops inspected during the monitoring. Similarly, it is not known when the fish was packed when the purchase and sale bill was not issued. Chairman of the Consumer Rights Research Forum Madhav Timilsena said, "Consumers are being deceived in terms of price and quality." We welcome this monitoring. Give our traders time to improve.
