Apr 26, Kathmandu- One person was injured by a leopard attack in Shuklaphanta municipality of Kanchanpur.

According to Deputy Inspector of Police Anand Chand of the Area Police Office, Jhalari, 26-year-old Rabindra Dhami was injured in the attack of a leopard in the Bhagwati Community Forest located in Shuklaphanta-8.

When he went to pick apples in the forest, a leopard attacked him and injured him.

Injured Dhami is undergoing treatment at Dhangadhi in Kailali.

Locals have said that there has been an increase in leopard attacks in Pariphanta, Marbhoj and other areas here.​​​​

Keshav Dhami, president of Bhagati Community Forest, said that the leopard attacked Chand while he was picking apples inside the nursery of the forest.

He has injuries on his hands and head.
