Apr 27, Kathmandu- Chairman of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that for the development of the sports sector, it is necessary to have sports fields in the local municipalities.

He said this while addressing the opening ceremony of the Godawari Mayor's Cup organized on the occasion of the 8th Foundation Day of Godawari Municipality in Lalitpur on Saturday. He also said that there is a need to protect the sports ground.

He said that the municipalities should start developing the sports field by building a playground. He said that the support of the state and union government is also indispensable for the development of the game. He said that the role of sports is important to make a person disciplined and healthy.

"For the development of the sports sector, it is necessary to have a sports field with facilities in the local municipalities. Godavari Municipality is happy that it has been attempted. It is necessary to protect the sports ground," he said. "The support of the state and union government is also indispensable for the development of sports. I express my commitment to make the playground more organized".
