Apr 27, Kathmandu- The US has announced that it will provide the largest military aid to Ukraine.

Under this, the US will provide $6 billion in military aid to Ukraine, through which Ukraine will purchase weapons, including Patriot interceptors and the NASAMS Air Defense System.

Their support will greatly help Ukraine to avoid Russian airstrikes. Ukraine has been demanding to provide the Patriot missile system for a long time.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced on Saturday military assistance to Ukraine. This assistance is provided under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), with the help of which Ukraine will receive new weapons from American companies.

Addressing a press conference at the Pentagon, Austin said that this was the largest military aid ever and that weapons would soon be supplied to Ukraine. Under this military aid, Ukraine will receive anti-drone systems, modern weapons and air-to-ground weapons from the United States.

The US announced a $60 billion aid package to Ukraine. This $6 billion military aid is also part of that package. This support will greatly help Ukraine in its fight against Russia. In particular, Ukraine will also receive Patriot missiles and Nassams air defense systems under the air defense system from the United States.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the US military support, but also said they still needed more air defense systems to counter Russian airstrikes.

Austin said that over the past two years, Ukraine has received 70 medium- to long-range air defense systems, thousands of missiles, 3,000 armored vehicles, as well as 800 tanks and 10,000 anti-tank missiles. Also, Ukraine will soon receive F-16 fighter jets.
