Universities Instructed To Run In A Competitive And Transparent Manner

May 02, Kathmandu- Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that the vice-chancellor of the university has been appointed based on merit.

Prime Minister Prachanda said that during the meeting of the recently appointed vice-chancellors of Eastern, Midwestern and Far-Western universities at Singha Durbar today, he has made the process of appointing vice-chancellors transparent and competitive.

The newly appointed Chancellor of Eastern University Prof. Dr. Bijukumar Thapalia, the newly appointed Chancellor of Mid-Western University Prof. Dr. Dhruva Kumar Gautam and the newly appointed Chancellor of Sudurpaschim University Prof. Dr. Hemraj Pant met the Prime Minister and Chancellor Prachanda today after receiving the letter of appointment.

On that occasion, Prime Minister Prachanda directed the university to operate competitively and transparently. "In the appointment of the vice-chancellor of the university, party divisions have been put an end to and the basis of competition has been started," Prime Minister Prachanda said, "The appointment of the vice-chancellors here has also been done accordingly, please fulfil your responsibilities fairly".

Prime Minister Prachanda instructed the vice-chancellors to focus on producing manpower to compete in the world market by providing quality education from universities.
