Kathmandu Valley has 181 ICUs and 76 ventilators: Ministry of Health

The government has stated that there are 181 ICUs and 76 ventilators in the Kathmandu Valley for the treatment of critically infected people with Corona virus (Covid-19).


Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, informed that the critically ill are being treated in 82 ICU beds and 27 ventilators.

According to him, 99 ICUs and 49 ventilators are still vacant. So far, 235 people are being treated in ICU and 42 in ventilator.

Of them, 128 are in ICU and 30 in ventilator in Bagmati. There are 2,600 ICUs and 900 ventilators across the country.

Two thousand 540 people were found infected with corona in Kathmandu Valley on Thursday. So far, 36,311 people have been found infected in the Kathmandu Valley.

Spokesperson Dr. Gautam informed that COVID-19 Hospital is fully prepared for the prevention and control of Corona.

He said that all services including emergency services are open 24 hours a day. He also requested the infected people to live in isolation at home by fulfilling the criteria set by the ministry.

If it is not possible to stay at home, the ministry has requested to contact toll free number 1133 and go to the hospital with any health problem.
