Virat and Dhoni compete in IPL: Bangalore beat Chennai by 37 runs

Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Virat Kohli, beat Chennai Super Kings, captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, by 37 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) last night.

Batting first after winning the toss, Bangalore failed to meet the target of 170 runs and lost by 37 runs. Chennai lost 8 wickets in 20 overs and managed to score only 132 runs.

Bangalore lost 4 wickets in 20 overs and scored 169 runs. Captain Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 90 runs for Bangalore.

Devdut Padikkal scored 33, Shivam Dubey 22 and Washington Sundar 10 for Bangalore. Other batsmen did not add double figures.

Shardul Thakur of Chennai took 2 wickets while Sam Karan and Deepak Chahar took 1 wicket each.

Ambati Rayadu top-scored for Chennai with 42 runs under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Narayan Jagadison scored 33, Shane Watson 14 and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni 10 runs.

Chris Morris took 3 wickets for Bangalore while Washington Sundar took 2 wickets.

With last night's victory, Bangalore has risen to the fourth position in the table. Bangalore has added 8 points in 6 games. This is the fifth defeat of sixth-ranked Chennai. Chennai has scored 4 points in 7 games.
