IPL: Bangalore beat Kolkata by 82 runs

Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 82 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match played last night.

Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat first at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE.

Chasing the target of 195 runs set by Bangalore, Kolkata lost 9 wickets in 20 overs and managed to score only 112 runs.

AB de Villiers played an unbeaten 73-run half-century for Bangalore while Aaron Finch added 47 runs.

Devdoot Padikak scored 32 runs while captain Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 33 runs. Famous Krishna and Andre Russell took 1/1 wickets for Kolkata.


Subman Gill scored 34, Rahul Tripathi and Andre Russell scored 16/16 for Kolkata. The other batsmen could not add double figures.

Bangalore's Washington Sundar and Chris Morris took 2/2 wickets while Chris Morris, Mohammad Siraj, Navdeep Shaini and Isuru Udana and Yujbhendra Chahal took 1/1 wickets.

Bangalore has added 10 points with five wins in the IPL this season. This is Kolkata's third defeat with eight points in seven games. Bangalore is third in the table while Kolkata is fourth.
