Mehbooba released from custody after 14 months

October 14, Kathmandu

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has been released after 14 months. The chief mufti of the People's Democratic Party was released from custody on Tuesday.

He was detained on August 4 last year after Article 370 was removed from Kashmir. She remained in custody for 436 days. His detention was extended under the Public Security Act before the end of his detention on February 6.

Although the act was related to timber smuggling, it was also linked to other issues. In Kashmir, the law allowed anyone to be detained for up to two years.

It has been claimed that even though Jammu and Kashmir has been taken under the central government led by Narendra Modi, it is becoming calm and the wave of development is also going on.
