The office of Hetauda Industrial Area Management Limited has informed that out of 111 industries in the industrial area, all the industries have come into operation. Due to the lockdown, other industries except biscuits, noodles, bakery, drinking water, grains and dairy products were shut down, but the industries have not yet opened at full capacity.
 
Essential food industries have been operating at 80 percent capacity and other chemical, construction materials, machinery and plastics industries at 50 percent capacity. According to the office, about 10,500 people have been directly or indirectly employed in the industrial sector. "Some entrepreneurs have applied for the necessary land, electricity and water for setting up new industries," said Rajendra Shrestha, Administrative Officer at the Hetauda Industrial Area Management Office. About 1,885 ropanis of land has been set aside for the establishment of various new industries in this industrial zone which was established on November 6, 2020 BS. The private sector has about Rs 5.5 billion investment in the industrial sector. The government has also invested Rs 900 million, according to the office. Krishna Katuwal, president of the Makwanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the industry produces foreign exchange by producing quality electrical goods, food grains and other goods from the industrial zone.
 
In this industrial area, the industry management has expedited the construction of 13 of its administrative buildings by signing a land agreement. Senior Vice President of the Makwanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Madhav Prasad Neupane said that preparations are being made to operate the industry by completing the construction work within the next two months.
