Corona takes away Nepal’s first cinematographer

Baikunthaman Maskey, the first cinematographer of Nepali films, has died due to corona infection. Maskey is also the first Nepali filmmaker to die from the corona infection.

Maskey died on Friday at the age of 83. Maskey has been suffering from kidney disease for the past seven years. He was admitted to Nidan Hospital on Sunday after a corona infection was confirmed.

Maske has shot two dozen films, including 'Manko Bandh' and 'Pachchis Vasant'. He was buried at Pashupati on Friday.

Maskey, who graduated from the Indian Film Technical School in Pune, India in 2021 BS, had shot the film 'Parivartan' released in 2027 BS. He was the first Nepali cinematographer to shoot a feature film.
