Home isolation death is now family responsibility, Health Ministry

October 18, Kathmandu

The government has introduced criteria for the family to manage the body in the event of the death of a corona resident living in home isolation.

The Ministry of Health has made the criteria by making the second amendment in the 'Brief Procedure 2077' on the corpse management of persons who died due to COVID-19.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Jageshwor Gautam said that the government has formulated new standards for the management of corpses. According to him, the criteria for managing the corpses has been specified by adopting health safety standards.

The government has issued new criteria to give the responsibility to the family as there are many difficulties in managing the corpses of the infected. The family should also inform the local representative and the police in case of death in the house of the infected person. Only after that, it has been mentioned in the criteria that the body should be buried with awareness.

Earlier, the District Covid Crisis Management Center had been managing the bodies in case of death of the infected.
