Today, on the third day of Dashain, devotees are worshipping Goddesses Chandraghanta

October 19, Kathmandu

Today, on the third day of Dashain, Chandraghanta Devi is being worshiped. There is a tradition of worshiping nine forms of Nava Durga from Ghatsthapana.

On the first day of Navratra, Shailaputri is worshiped on the first day, Bramhacharini on the second day, Chandraghanta on the third day, Kushmanda on the fourth day, Skandamata on the fifth day, Katyayani on the sixth day, Kalratri on the seventh day, Mahagauri on the eighth day and Siddhidatri on the ninth day.

Even though visitors visit the Shakti Peeths of Goddess Durga including Guheshwari, Mait Devi, Dakshinkali, Kalikasthan, Shobha Bhagwati, Talejubhavani, Vijeshwari, Naxal Bhagwati, Bhadrakali and Indrayani in the valley, the temple is deserted due to Corona.

Even today, only regular ritual worship will be performed in the temples and Shakti Peeths of Nava Durga across the country. There is no crowd of devotees due to the risk of corona infection.

Outside the Kathmandu Valley, Dantkali of Dharan, Siddakali of Bhojpur, Pathibhara of Taplejung, Manakamana of Gorkha and other Shakti Peeths use to be crowded but this time they are deserted as well.
