The ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN-UML) has decided to deposit the amount received by its MPs as Dashain allowance in the Corona Fund.

Deputy Prime Minister Subash Nemwang said that the decision was taken after discussions with the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. "The fight against Corona is our number one priority.

"In this regard, we have decided to deposit Dashain allowance in the corona fund of the government," Nemwang said. However, the CPN (Maoist) has not issued a statement in this regard.

The decision was taken after the CPN (Maoist) parliamentary party discussed the issue with the party leadership. The CPN (Maoist) has 220 MPs in the Federal Parliament, with only 174 in the House of Representatives and 46 in the National Assembly.
