A tanker caught fire at Everest Petrol Pump in Bhairahawa

A tanker carrying fuel has caught fire at Everest Petrol Pump in Bhairahawa, Rupandehi. A fire broke out at Everest Oil Suppliers in Siddharthnagar Municipality-8 on Monday night while digging fuel in an underground tank from a tanker.

According to Rupandehi Police Spokesperson Khadka Bahadur Khatri, the fire was brought under control after an hour-long effort by three fire brigades from different places.

Although the pump was saved from the fire, the tanker and the fuel in it were all burnt, said Khatri. The pump has suffered minor damage.

According to the Rupendehi Police, the tanker (Lu 2 Kha 1541) was completely destroyed and 30,000 liters of diesel in the tanker was also destroyed.

According to Rupandehi Police Spokesperson Khatri, Narayan Khanal, a fuel refinery operator, sustained minor injuries.

Firefighters from Siddharthnagar, Tilottama and Butwal municipalities had brought the fire under control. Police said that no damage was done to the petrol pump and nearby houses.
