Hubei Provincial High Court Deputy Chief Zhang Zhongbin has been found to have committed suicide in his office.

According to the Chinese media Global Times, Zhong Bin, who had been ill for a long time, was found hanging in his office on Saturday.

The court said on its official website on Tuesday morning that Zhang had been ill for some time and was taking medication. The court ruled that he had committed suicide, dismissing the suspicion that he may have been murdered.

Local police in Wangchung District, Wuhan, said they received a report that a man had been hanged in court at 3pm on Monday through his Sina Weibo. During the investigation, it was determined that he was the 53-year-old deputy chief of the court.

It is said that further investigation is underway in this regard.

Zhang has been an assistant judge at the People's Court of Hubei Province since 1990.
