May 22, Kathmandu- Indian Senior environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna of Ratka has passed away. He died at the age of 94 in Uttarakhand on Friday.
He died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Rishikesh after contracting the coronavirus. He was admitted to the hospital on May 8.
Bahuguna started Chip's campaign against deforestation in the 1970s. Chip's campaign was a movement of his social life.
His socio-political career began in the wake of the 1942 War of Independence. He joined the Congress movement due to the influence of Mahatma Gandhi. His faith in Gandhian ideology remained throughout his life.
