Government Has Allocated Above 10 Billion For Railway Project

May 30, Kathmandu- The government has allocated Rs. 10.3 billion for the coming Fiscal Year 2020/21 for the East-West Railway project.

 Announcing the budget for the coming fiscal year, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel said that more than Rs 10 billion has been allocated for the railway projects.

He has also announced to run trains on Janakpur-Jayanagar railway line next year.

He is now in charge of preparing the detailed project report (DPR) of the proposed interstate railway connecting the two neighboring countries. The government is constructing the central section of the east-west railway.

In the current fiscal year, the government had allocated Rs. 8.66 billion for the railways.
