We Are Not Aware Of 'Nepal Variant' : WHO

June 3, Kathmandu - The World Health Organization (WHO) has said it is not aware of any new variants of the COVID-19 in Nepal.

While rumors are circulating that a new variant of the Corona has spread in Nepal, the WHO's Nepal-based office said this on its social network Facebook on Thursday.

The variants in Nepal are Alpha (B.1.1.7), Delta (B1.617.2) and Kappa (B1.617.1), according to the WHO. Similarly, the current variant of Nepal is Delta (B.1.617.2). The variant (B1.617.2) found in India has been named 'Delta' by the WHO.
