June 11, Kathmandu - Sunil Kumar Pokhrel has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer CEO of Civil Bank Limited.

 Pokhrel has been appointed as the Deputy CEO of the bank after the resignation of the then CEO Govinda Gurung on May 1. A meeting of the 345th Board of Directors of the bank held on Thursday appointed Pokhrel as the CEO for four years. He had been appointed as the Deputy CEO of Civil Bank since May 16, 2019.

Pokharel has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer with effect from July 2. Pokharel, who entered the banking service in 1991, has worked at the Asian Green Development Bank in Myanmar through NIC, Nabil, Standard Chartered Bank.

Due to his long experience of working in domestic and foreign banks, he is considered by many as a banker with good knowledge and experience in foreign banking. Pokhrel has worked in a foreign bank for three years.
