World's largest Shaligram sank at Kaligandaki

June 15, Kathmandu - The flow of Kaligandaki River has reached its highest point in last 28 years. Due to incessant rains, the flow of Kaligandaki River flowing through Mustang, Myagdi and mountains has reached a high point, according to the local administration.

Bagarphant, Wariveni, Milanchowk, Lasti, Khaniyanghat, Maldhunga of Kushma Municipality, Nayapul, Modiveni, Jaminighat of Phalewas Municipality and Setiveni Bazaar of Vihadi Municipality are at high risk due to the rising river.

The world's largest Shaligram rock on the border of Parbat, Syangja and Gulmi has also been submerged. The administration has urged the locals to be vigilant as it is raining and the flow of Kaligandaki is also increasing.
