July 10, Kathmandu- Former Gandaki Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung has accused the current government of initiating corruption. Gurung, who is also the leader of Gandaki's main opposition party UML, told a press conference in Pokhara that the Nepali Congress-led state government had started corruption through non-budgetary funds.
"Non-budgetary expenditure is the beginning of corruption. They (including the Chief Minister and the state government) have already started corruption, 'he added.' This is an issue of 160 million rupees, the concerned bodies will pay attention to it. '
The government led by Congress leader Krishnachandra Nepali Pokhrel had recently transferred Rs 160 million from the budget. UML had earlier protested against the Pokhrel-led government saying that various schemes not included in the Red Book would be completed in 10 days.
Earlier, the state government led by UML leader Gurung was accused of awarding contracts worth Rs 4.51 billion without any plan.
