Tamang Language Education Is Being Implemented In Lalitpur From This Year Academic Session

July 10, Kathmandu-Education in Tamang language will be implemented in Konjyosom village municipality of Lalitpur from this academic session. The executive meeting held on Wednesday decided to implement Tamang mother tongue education on the recommendation of the village education committee.

Village Municipality Chairman Gopilal Singtan informed that the class will be started soon after printing the book. Chairman Singtan said that all the schools in the village municipality will start teaching from class 1 this year. According to him, there are 17 schools including 3 higher secondary schools, 3 secondary schools, and 11 basic schools in the village municipality. He said that the village municipality has started teaching from this academic session to implement the rights given by the constitution as there is a majority of Tamang students in all the schools.

Out of 753 local levels, Konjyasom will be the first village municipality to implement education in Tamang language. The village municipality has already trained 17 teachers from all the schools one by one to teach the Tamyig script.

Village Education Branch Chief Bishnu Prasad Acharya said, "The village executive committee has decided to implement class 1 education in Tamang language in all schools." We will implement it soon, ”he said. According to him, there has been an informal discussion on whether to create posts as much as possible. Nepal Tamang Ghedung is coordinating the training of teachers and the construction of textbooks.

Pratik Tamang, who is in charge of training and textbook production, said that he was happy that the children of the community schools in the Tamang-dominated villages were getting an education in their mother tongue. He informed me that a new textbook has been prepared for this according to the new syllabus. According to Tamang, the Konjyosom village municipality has set a new example to the local level in implementing the right to education up to basic and secondary levels provided by the constitution and the Local Government Operation Act. Another Tamyig script instructor, Mohan Kumar Yonjan, thanked the members of the Education Committee, the executive members, and the chief and deputy chief for the decision to implement education.

Nepal Tamang Ghedung, with the technical assistance of the Language Commission, has been requesting the local level to ensure the right of children to be educated in their mother tongue as provided by the constitution. Chairman Mohan Gole informed that the training is currently being conducted in the Nijgadh Municipality of Bara.
