Government Schools Has Been Illegally Charging Admission Fees

July 22, Kathmandu- A school in Salarhi has been charging high fees from students under various pretexts.

Even though the government says free education for all, Malangwa municipality ward no. 5. Parents and students have complained that the Ramgulam Janata Secondary School in Bhandsar is charging exorbitant fees in the name of admission.

The school has been found to be illegally charging admission fees from students. According to Rabindra Mahato, the guardian of Pooja Kumari Mahato, a student who has just passed class 8 and reached class 9 at the same school.

Mahato said that he had asked the school accountant Ram Bishwas Roy why the admission fee was charged even though the government had introduced free education for all.

Although the government has declared free education for grades 1 to 12, most of the community schools in the district have been charging students for admission fees, examination fees, gay fees, sports fees, and development fees.

Lalan Rai, a parent of a student studying at Ramgulam Janata High School, Bhandar, said that the school enrollment drive is underway and if he does not pay Rs. Yadav has complained.

Yadav said that the government has made the study from class 1 to 12 free of cost. He said that other parents of Khutuna like him had to pay for the admission of their children.

It is said that the parents and students of the school were forced to submit a petition to the District Administration Office demanding action against Prof. Raut of the school.

Even before this, the school has been illegally collecting money from the students in the titles of enrollment, examination, registration, certificate, development, etc., contrary to the education regulations.

Parents have complained that they have been extorting money from students by threatening to fail the exams if they do not pay the fees.
