At Least 24 killed After Storm Strikes Fishing Ships In Indonesia

July 22, Kathmandu- At least 24 people have been killed after 18 small fishing boats capsized off the coast of Indonesia. 31 people are still missing.


ANI reports that 18 small boats carrying fishermen have been caught in the storm in the western Indonesian province of Kalimantan. Rescuers have found the bodies of 24 people and 31 others are still missing.


Yopi Haryadi, chief of the provincial search and rescue agency, told Xinhua that two boats had come to the coastal area after being alerted about the adverse weather. The incident took place in Sambas district.
