Nepal's games are starting from today in Tokyo Olympics

July 24, Kathmandu - Nepal's games are starting in Tokyo Olympics from today. Today, Kalpana Pariyar of Shooting will compete in the 100-meter air rifle while Sonia Bhatt of Judo will compete in the less than 48 kg weight category.

Bhatt's opponent is Russia's Dolgova Irina. On July 27, Alexander Shah Alex of Pauri is scheduled to play in the 100m freestyle and Gaurika Singh is scheduled to play in the same events on July 28. On July 30, Saraswati Chaudhary of Athletics will compete in the 100 meters. Similarly, Nepali taekwondo player Palesha Govardhan will compete in the Paralympics. The Olympic Games were officially inaugurated yesterday.

The Japanese capital, Tokyo, was inaugurated in a special ceremony yesterday. The ceremony was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, US First Lady Jill Biden and others. Swimmers Gaurika Singh and Alex carried Nepal's flag during the March pass of the inauguration ceremony. Due to the risk of infection, special emphasis has been laid on adhering to health safety standards. Competitions are being held without the presence of spectators.
