Floods and inundation in China's Henan province have killed at least 56 people

July 24, Kathmandu - The death toll from floods triggered by heavy rains in central China rise to 56 on Friday, local officials said. Seven people are still missing in the floods and landslides.

According to the Provincial Emergency Services Management Department, many vehicles that were stranded on the Jinggang Tunnel near Zhengzhou since Tuesday have been rescued and the death toll could rise.

The department said that there was still a lot of water in the underground road and there was a possibility of more dead bodies being found there.
