August 30, Kathmandu - Veteran progressive writer Anand Dev Bhatt has died at the age of 86 from Alzheimer's disease. He died at his residence in Kalikasthan after undergoing treatment at the hospital last month. He has been active in Nepali literature, teaching, and progressive thought for a long time. His works like 'Sainlimaiya', 'Ama Bolachin', '97 Sal 'are especially popular.
Born in Jumla in 1993, he is also the former president of the Progressive Writers 'Association and the Progressive Professors' Association. His body will be laid to rest at Pashupati Aryaghat for burial, said by Prof Dr. Jiveendra Dev Giri, president of the Progressive Writers' Association.
