Sep 2, Kathmandu-Arghakhanchi OPC Cement which is being produced by Arghakhanchi Cement Limited has obtained permission for 43-grade cement.
Nepal Department of Quality and Measurement certified NHS-572 and handed over 43rd-grade certificates to the company on Thursday. Stating that the quality of its products has been formally certified by the Government of Nepal, the company has stated that it will always give priority to the production and sale of quality cement.
"Our product, which is currently recognized as a 33-grade city, will be certified as a 43-grade product, which will make the general consumer more confident in using Arghakhanchi's products," said Uddhav Karki, general manager of the company.
The Department of Quality and Measurement has introduced a grading system with the concept of NHS-572 from this year with the objective of ensuring high quality in cement.
Arghakhanchi Cement is one of the largest and best companies in Nepal producing clinker, OPC, and PPC cement.
The company has already started preparations for an IPO after it was transformed into a public limited company last fiscal year. The company has also informed that it will issue an IPO within a year.
The company, which has increased its total production capacity to one million tonnes per annum since 2075 BS, has been able to increase its sales by 18 percent in the fiscal year 2077/78, despite intense competition and lockdown.
"We have already made preparations to open shares to the public," said Raju Poudel, the chief financial officer of the company.
