September 5, Kathmandu - The writ petition seeking revocation of the appointment of Kulman Ghising as the executive director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has been taken up by Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jb Rana himself.

Outgoing executive director Hitendra Dev Shakya had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on August 16 seeking revocation of the appointment. In the writ petition, Shakya has claimed that he was illegally removed from the post of executive director of NEA and demanded that he should be replaced.

In the writ, the Prime Minister and the Office of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Energy, the Minister of Energy, the Board of Directors of the Nepal Electricity Authority, and the Executive Director Kulman Ghising have been made the opposition.
