December27, Kathmandu: The Dahal-Nepal faction of the ruling CPN (Maoist) in State 1 has filed a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has signed the no-confidence motion by 37 lawmakers. The proposal was registered in the secretariat of the state assembly at 10:40 am on Sunday under the leadership of state assembly member Indra Bahadur Angbo.

State Assembly member Bhim Acharya is to be promoted as the Chief Minister.
