Oct 13, Kathamndu- Recently, Mahendra Namuna Secondary School in Khalanga has been the first choice of students. Parents are struggling to get their children enrolled in the school at the district headquarters. It is said that the students have been attracted to the school as they have been able to maintain excellent educational quality.
 
The number of students coming to school from other municipalities of the district has increased more than the incident. The school has also been selected by the Ministry of Social Development of the Far Western Province. Even though there are dozens of institutional and community schools in the district headquarters Khalanga, parents are happy to be able to enroll in the model high school. Although it is a community school, the school has conducted English medium education from infant class to class 10.
The school has started teaching in English medium since 2017 A.D. Like the institutional school, the school carries uniforms and other educational activities to attract students. After starting the study through English medium, there is a crowd of students.

In the current academic session, 258 students have been enrolled in the basic level, 617 from class 6 to class 8, 593 from class 9 to class 10 and 781 in class 11 and 12. Similarly, the school has enrolled 2,447 students in the Diploma in Civil Engineering from 2075 BS, said Ram Dutta Joshi, Principal of the school.

 Admission process is still going on under Post Diploma. Student pressure is increasing. He said, “Government posts are low in schools. We have only 18 teachers and seven government employees. As the pressure of students is increasing in the school, sections have to be made in each class. 68 teachers are working. According to the school, classes in class 11 and 12 have been started in seven sections. There are five sections in class 10, 6 in class 9, four in class 8, 4 in class 7 and 3 in class 6. Prof. Joshi said, “Our teacher-friendly manpower cannot support more than 500 students. ”

The school is teaching science, commerce and education. The government had declared the school as a model school in 2005 A.D.  The school has excellent teaching and learning in the district and is becoming strong in physical infrastructure management and educational management. Chief of the Education Development and Coordination Unit Jayaraj Pant, said that Mahendra Namuna Higher Secondary School has become the trust of the parents of the entire district and suggested that the quality should be maintained. Students of all the nine local levels are studying in the school, he said, adding, "Now that the height of the school has reached its peak, it should be able to sustain it."
