"Unnecessary Apprehensions Adversely Affect Faith In Judiciary": Chief Justice Rana

Oct 15, Kathmandu-Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana said that the "unnecessary" remarks would adversely affect the faith and trust in the judiciary.

In a congratulatory message on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, Diwali, Chhath and other festivals on Friday, Chief Justice Rana said that he was committed to a fair and competent judiciary.

"I also express my firm commitment to the role and responsibilities given by the constitution with the recognition of the separation and balance of power assimilated by the constitution of Nepal and the concept of independent, impartial and competent judiciary and rule of law," Rana said in a congratulatory message.

Chief Justice Rana said that unnecessary apprehensions and remarks would adversely affect the faith and trust in the judiciary and urged to remain sensitive towards it.

"We sincerely request you to be sensitive to any possible misgivings or comments that may adversely affect the faith and trust in the judiciary. I also hope that the upcoming festivals will give us all more energy, encouragement and motivation to contribute to the prosperity of the judiciary," he said. The message said.

Chief Justice Rana said that festivals like Dashain, Tihar and Chhath have been playing an important role in maintaining unity, tolerance and mutual harmony in Nepali society for centuries.

Chief Justice Rana said that the risk of infection is still there even though the impact of Kovid 19 is less and urged to celebrate the festival by following the health safety standards.
