October 16, Kathmandu - Corona infection rates in the UK have been rising steadily in recent days. In the last few days, the number of daily infected people has been more than 40,000. Corona has added 44,928 new infections in the last 24 hours, according to the Department of Health and Social Care.

More than 281,000 corona infections have been confirmed in a year, according to government figures. The number of infected people has increased by 11.5 percent compared to the previous year. The total number of people infected in the UK so far has reached 8.361 million. Similarly, 145 people have died due to corona in the past 24 hours, according to the health department. In the last one week, 818 people have died in the UK. At the same time, the number of deaths due to corona in the UK has reached one lakh 38 thousand 379 so far. The death toll also rise 5.1 percent. The number of hospital admissions due to infections has increased by 8.1 percent in the last one week. In the last 24 hours, 827 infected people have been admitted to the hospital while the number of infected people currently being treated at the hospital is 7,086. Similarly, 783 infected people are being treated in ventilator beds.

So far, 94.6 million 32 thousand 385 doses of corona vaccine have been distributed in the UK. Out of which, 49.3 million 354 people or 85.8 percent have received the first dose of vaccine and 45.297 million 231 people or 78.8 percent have received both doses of vaccine. A third booster dose has recently been launched in the UK.
