Initiative To Implement The Agreement With Biplav

October 17, Kathmandu - Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has taken initiative to implement the agreement reached earlier with the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav'. Home Minister Khand has discussed with Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Prasad Badu, Secretary Uday Raj Sapkota, Attorney General Khamb Bahadur Khati and Home Secretary Teknarayan Pandey on how to move forward for the implementation of the agreement.

The meeting discussed the work done so far for the implementation of the agreement and the steps to be taken now. On the occasion, Minister Khan informed about the talks he had held with the CPN (Maoist) leaders so far and their demands for the implementation of the agreement. The government led by KP Sharma Oli had reached a three-point agreement with the Communist Party of Nepal on March 4, 2021. In the meeting, the Government of Nepal, which is in the third point of the agreement, agreed to lift the ban on the Communist Party of Nepal, release the imprisoned party leaders and cadres and dismiss all the issues.

After the formation of the current government, the CPN (Maoist) leaders have met Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of the ruling coalition CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and Home Minister Khand and demanded implementation of the agreement reached by the previous government.
