Within Twenty-Eight School Program of Earning As A Trial While Studying Will Be Implemented

Oct 17, Kathmandu-  Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has reached the final stage of formulating procedures for the implementation of the 'reading and earning' program announced by the government in the budget speech.

The Planning and Programs Division of the Ministry of Education has prepared the working procedure to implement the 'Studying and Earnings' program by spending Rs. 140 million under the Presidential Educational Reform Program.

Ministry spokesperson Deepak Sharma said that the ministry is engaged in final preparations for the announcement of the program determined by the working procedure. According to spokesperson Sharma, this year the program will be implemented as a test by selecting schools from each state.

The procedure has been prepared to be implemented as a test in three schools from each state by giving priority to the schools where technical classes are conducted. Tulasi Prasad Thapaliya informed. "This year, the program is being implemented in a small number of schools as a test while earning money while studying," said Chief Thapaliya.

In the bill to replace the budget ordinance that came after Sher Bahadur Deuba became the prime minister, the government has prepared working procedure for conducting 'reading and earning program' targeting secondary level (class 9-12) students. Some have been of the opinion that the program should include students other than the technical stream. The purpose of the program is to make the students able to earn by training.

Due to the lack of budget management in the program, it will be implemented from the program of the President's Educational Reform Program. "The main purpose of the program is to link student learning with earning," Thapaliya said.

Incumbent Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, while introducing the replacement bill in the House of Representatives, had announced the introduction of 'reading and earning' educational program. The ministry said it was preparing to launch a 'reading and earning' program to build a productive economy.

The program is being developed to enable technical students to do employment and practical work related to their field of study. In ordinary schools, the program will cover only class 12.

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma expressed confidence that good results would be achieved if the program did not deteriorate. "Now we need development based on production. Community-based education is appropriate in Nepal. The education sector is also run by the community. 'Finance Minister Sharma said,' Nepal's education life will be useful only if the community needs to be educated, made responsible, the political leadership has to be made accountable and teachers have to be committed. '

The budget ordinance states that mapping from child education to secondary education will be prepared and implemented on the basis of geography and number of students for the qualitative development of the education sector through proper use of quality education, technical education, infrastructure education and technology.
