Decision Of Security Committee To Tighten The Border

October 30, Kathmandu - The overall security arrangements of the country have been discussed at the Central Security Committee meeting. A meeting of the Security Committee held at the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to tighten the border checkpoints to prevent illegal entry into Nepal.

In order to tighten the security, it has been decided to make CCTV connections at the checkpoints, make it mandatory to show identity cards while moving around, and make the operation of immigration and security agencies more effective. Discussions have also been held on making the health check-up at the Border more effective.

During the meeting, the security chiefs briefed the caretaker Prime Minister and Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand about the number of Afghanistan and foreign nationals in Nepal. Home Minister Khand has directed tightening the border checkpoints and international airports to prevent foreign nationals from entering Nepal illegally. Eleven Afghanistan refugees were arrested from Sinamangal in Kathmandu on October 25.
