Newly Appointed Chief Minister Of Karnali Asked To Expand The Council Of Ministers

Nov 5, Kathmandu- Newly appointed Karnali Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi is expected to form a cabinet.

Even though a coalition government will be formed, Chief Minister Shahi has decided to expand the cabinet only after Tihar as there is no consensus on which party will appoint how many ministers. It has not been decided how many ministers will be appointed from the CPN-Maoist Center, Nepali Congress and CPN-U.

Chief Minister Shahi took an oath of office and secrecy last Tuesday. At the same time, ministers were expected to be sworn in. The banner of Chief Minister Shahi's swearing-in ceremony also read 'Swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister and Ministers'. The minister could not be appointed.

Till Thursday, the newly-appointed Chief Minister is busy with good wishes and congratulations rather than holding discussions with the allies for the expansion of the Royal Council of Ministers.
Him Bahadur Shahi, chief whip of the Congress parliamentary party, said that the cabinet could be expanded only after the festival. He said, "Maybe the cabinet will be expanded after Tihar. I didn't know everything."
