Nov 14, Kathmandu- Both the Chief Justice and the agitating parties (Judge and Nepal Bar) have not been seen responsible for resolving the court dispute since Kartik 7. As both the parties are in their position, the right of the people to get justice is being violated as no solution to the dispute has been found.
Nineteen judges of the Supreme Court have not sat in the bench demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra. Judges are also confused as to how long the situation will remain.
Chief Justice Jabra has maintained his stance of not resigning, while other judges and the Nepal Bar Association have not stopped asking for his resignation. The Bar Association had started the agitation on Kartik 14 demanding Jabra's resignation. The bar has made the movement nationwide since Sunday. Due to the stand of both parties, the issue has been resolved at the apex court.
Chief Justice Jabra himself had proposed a "dignified exit". A committee of three judges was formed to discuss the matter. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. The Chief Justice has not been able to hold discussions with all the judges.
