Dec 11, Kathmandu -As usual, the winter season has started this year too. In winter, our hands, feet, cheeks and lips are more prone to cracking. In winter, the air becomes dry and when it touches the skin, the skin also becomes dry. Since the lip is a smaller part of the body than others, it can cause a lot of problems if it is cracked. After cracking the lips, eating something burns, laughing hurts and the beauty of the face deteriorates.
Why do lips crack in winter?
Lip cracking is most common in winter or in dry dusty weather. When it gets colder, the sebaceous glands on the lips produce less oil, and cracking begins.
Causes of chapped lips
The human body needs two to three liters of water daily. The habit of not drinking water until you are thirsty causes such a problem. So you have to drink water at short intervals. Sometimes drinking too much alcohol can cause chapped lips. The lips are very soft. Alcohol can cause dehydration and chapped lips.
What is the solution?
Apply lip balm: Apply lip balm on the lips from time to time. It is better to apply lip balm with vitamin E and bee whey.
Scrub: Cracked lips have dead skin cells, which can make you look unhealthy and unattractive. For this, such dead skin should be removed using a scrub. Applying a smooth liquid with sugar and rubbing it on the lips removes dead skin and makes the lips beautiful. For this, you can gently clean your lips with a toothbrush. After cleaning in this way, do not forget to use lip balm.
Don't cut: Dead skin on the lips should not be removed by cutting with fingers or nails. Otherwise, there may be a wound.
Apply lipstick on the balm
Before applying lipstick in the winter season, apply lip balm on the lips and let it dry and apply lipstick on it. It provides extra moisturizer on the lips.
Don't lick your lips: As the lips get dry in winter, the lips get cracked. Many people have a habit of moving their tongues on the lips to remove the dryness of the lips. This should not be done. Doing so makes the lips drier.
