Deuba Has Won The Post Of Nepali Congress President

Dec 15, Kathmandu -Sher Bahadur Deuba has won the post of president again from the 14th general convention of Nepali Congress. 

In the second round of voting held on Tuesday, Dr. Defeating Shekhar Koirala, Deuba was elected president for a second term.

Deuba got 2 thousand 733 votes. Similarly, Shekhar Koirala got 1,855 votes while 35 votes were invalid. In the second phase, 4,623 delegates had cast their votes.

Out of the total 4,743 delegates, 4,669 had cast their votes in the first phase. But none of the five presidential candidates managed to get a majority.

 

Deuba got the most votes with 2,258 votes and Shekhar got 1,702 votes. Prakash Man Singh got 371 votes, Bimalendra Nidhi got 250 votes and Kalyan Gurung got 22 votes. In the second round, Singh, Nidhi and Gurung backed Deuba.
