Dec 23, Kathmandu- We usually reheat the leftover rice after eating it. However, eating stale rice heated in this way can cause great harm to the body. This happens when we do not take the necessary precautions when eating hot rice.
According to the UK's National Health Service, repeated heating of rice can cause food poisoning. However, this danger is not caused by heating the stale rice, but by the way, it is stored.
Rice Contains Such Bacteria
According to the healthcare system, rice contains a bacterium called Bacillus cirrhosis. This bacterium is so powerful that it can survive even when rice is cooked, and it can grow even faster.
After the rice is cooked and left at normal temperature for a long time, the bacteria take the form of bacteria. These bacteria grow rapidly and produce toxins, which can cause food poisoning. Therefore, after cooking rice, it should not be left at a normal temperature for long.
How To Keep Leftover Rice Safe
If leftover rice is to be stored the next evening, it should be stored properly, so that the rice does not spoil your health.
According to the NHS, it is best to start eating rice as soon as it is cooked. If it is to be kept for a long time after cooking, it should be kept in the fridge within one hour of cooling.
However, it can be kept in the fridge for only one day before reheating. If it remains to be eaten even after heating, it should not be kept in the fridge again, nor should it be reheated later. In this case, it is wise to throw away the leftover rice.
