Government Is Preparing To Give Public Welfare Advertisements For Online Media

Jan 1, Kathmandu-The government is preparing to provide public welfare advertisements to online media.

At a program organized in Kathmandu on Saturday, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said that the government was making necessary preparations to implement the government's policy of giving public welfare advertisements to online media as well.

Minister Karki, who is also the spokesperson of the government, urged the journalists to take special initiative to make the online media credible, accountable and dignified.

"Today's need is to make online media accountable and dignified," he said. "The current government will always stand for freedom of the press and expression and working journalists. I would like to assure the people here that the government will not discriminate on the basis of the internet or any other medium in promoting independent journalism. '

Earlier, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma had announced to provide public welfare advertisements to online media through a bill to replace the Finance Ordinance introduced by Prabhakar in the Federal Parliament on 10 September.
