Jan 8, Kathmandu- The United Nations has condemned the murder of two journalists by a gang in Haiti, UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric said at a news conference Friday.
"Sometimes you run out of words", Dujarric said when asked to comment on the murder of two journalists. "We strongly condemn this heinous murder. It is very important that the national authorities do their best to find the culprits and bring them to justice", Dujarric added. According to the Haiti 24 news outlet, two journalists were shot dead by armed members of a criminal group.
Another journalist reportedly managed to escape from the scene of the attack. Haiti has long been plagued by poverty, gang violence, and political crisis. The political crisis has deepened since the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in July 2021.
