Jan 14, Kathmandu- Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) is going to organize 'Lalitpur Mayor's Cup T-20' women's cricket tournament with the support of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
Lalitpur is going to continue the competition organized last year as well. The competition will be held in Kathmandu in the first week of Magh.
CAN has said that preparations have been intensified to announce the date of the tournament soon. Last year, Lalitpur had provided Rs 2 million to CAN for organizing the competition.
The amount is being discussed so that it doesn't reduce this year. Five teams including Lalitpur Mayors-11 will participate in the competition.
Four teams that reached the semi-finals of the Prime Minister's Cup T20 cricket tournament in Dhangadhi and five teams will be made to participate in the competition by forming a team consisting of the best players from the rest of the states.
APF had won the Prime Minister's Cup in Dhangadhi while the runner-up was Province 1. Similarly, Far Western Province and Lumbini were eliminated from the semi-finals.
The round-robin competition will be held on the grounds of Tribhuvan University in Kirtipur. The first round of the Mayer's Cup T20 Women's Cricket Tournament was won by APF. At that time, APF had won the title by defeating Sudurpaschim by 8 wickets.
