Jan 18, Kathmandu- The youths of Janakpurdham, who are against the naming of Province 2, have burnt the statue of the members of the Provincial Assembly.

They have protested against the naming of eight districts as Madhesh. At Janaki Chowk in Janakpurdham, youths led by youth engineer Sushil Karna have warned not to consider Madhesh as a state of eight districts.

While burning the statues, the youths chanted slogans such as 'Murdabad', 'We do not consider only 8 districts as Madhesh Pradesh', 'Identify Mithila Bhojpura Province with Identity'. Young engineer Sushil Karna demanded that the naming of these eight districts should be based on the same identity as Mithila Bhojpura.

He has accused the members of the state assembly of showing short-sightedness by naming only eight districts as Madhesh. He said that the struggle would continue if the issue of naming the states was not reconsidered.
