Formation Of High Level Committee In Madhesh Pradesh

Feb 5, Kathmandu- The meeting of the Council of Ministers of Madhesh Pradesh has formed a high-level committee to identify and solve the problems of the farmers.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Madhesh government held today has formed a five-member committee under the coordination of Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Bijay Kumar Yadav. The members of the committee are Madhesh ministers Shailendra Shah, Omprakash Sharma, Bharat Shah, and Shatrudhan Mahato. Similarly, Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture Mamata Singh has been appointed as the Member Secretary.

Minister Yadav said that a meeting of the Council of Ministers has formed a committee to identify and solve the problems of farmers in the state. For the past few days, the Janamat Party led by Dr. CK Raut has been agitating in the Terai Madhesh demanding timely provision of fertilizers to farmers, provision of pension, free irrigation, or agricultural bills.

The committee will review the activities of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Farmers' Fertilizer, Seed and Irrigation Problems, Insurance Status, Drowning Status, Agricultural Mechanization Status and Upcoming Strategies, Agricultural Electrification Status, Land Use Policy Making of Madhesh Pradesh, and Agriculture Reforms. Government Spokesperson and Finance Minister Shailendra Prasad Shah informed that they have been given the responsibility to formulate the policy for the upcoming plan.

The committee has been given a time limit of 15 days to submit the interim report to the Council of Ministers.
