We have been hearing about phishing in general and, more recently, phishing attacks. However, another type of attack involves ‘pharming attacks'. The pharming attack is a type of online fraud.

In which cybercriminals change the IP address (Computer Local Host File or DNS Cache Corruption/DNS. Server Poisoning) of the website by attempting to install malicious code on the user’s computer and server without the user knowing.

Through which the user is taken to the fake/fake/fraudulent website without any click and through that fake and fraudulent website the user’s personal details like PIN code, payment card details, password, etc. Criminals then use personal details, passwords, and PIN codes to commit financial fraud.

How to know if there is a pharming attack or not?

To be successful in Affiliate Business you need more than luck.  If the website you are looking for shows HTTP instead of HTTPS, then if the website shows unnatural errors (such as a spelling error, unfamiliar font, or color), looks different from the original, and looks like a legitimate site. How to Avoid  Pharming  Attacks?

  • Let’s go to an only secure website with HTTPS. For example https://www.techpana.com/
  • Let’s use a reliable and secure browser (like Mozilla Firefox etc.).
  • Do not visit suspicious websites.
  • While navigating any website, let the website load completely and check the URL of the website (Example: Spelling error / suffixing of letters).
  • Before transacting, do business by identifying whether the official website is there or not.
  • Let’s change the default password on consumer-grade routers and access points (AP).
  • Since most of the criminals use lucrative commercial fake sites like cheap or offers, let’s share your personal sensitive details only on official commercial sites and shop online only from such official commercial sites.
  • For safe browsing only use a VPN service with reputable DNS servers.
  • Let’s not click on attachments and links in emails received from strangers.
  • Let’s use Two Factor Authentication or Multi-Factor Authentication.
  • Use official and reputable anti-virus/anti-malware and firewall software.
