Feb 11, Kathmandu- It has been found that Nepal Telecom spends a lot of money for the international bandwidth of internet imported in Nepal. Internet bandwidth imported by Telcom is twice as expensive as that of Internet service provider Vianet.

Vianet, which imports 90 Gbps of international bandwidth, charges only USD 3.6 per Mbps per month. However, Nepal Telecom, which imports 112.30 Gbps bandwidth, has been charging USD 7.5 per Mbps.

Companies as network service providers have been importing international bandwidth to Nepal from various vendors located abroad. According to the Telecommunication Authority of Nepal, there are 12 network service providers importing international bandwidth in this way.

Most of the network service providers that import bandwidth in this way are also internet service providers themselves. Other internet service providers have been providing internet service by purchasing bandwidth from these network service providers.
